Growing up through Motherhood

As I sit in the warmth of the sun, I realize that my life has just begun. I became a mother before I was truly grown. I gave birth to my children before I came into my own. It might sound strange, but for me it feels like it was destined to happen this way. Being a mother taught me to care in the most compassionate way. Because I am a mother I listen, I hug often, I cry with others, I laugh with bursts of joy. Because I am a mother, I care deeply for all living things. Because I’m a mother, I will not give up on my dreams, only add to them. Because I’m a mother, I’m given new challenges every day. Through being a mother, I have learned to silently pray. My prayer is to trust as I breathe. God lives and moves through me. May I receive all the Divine has in store. May the love of the Most High guide me forevermore.
